12/10/2023 0 Comments Read me a random bible verse![]() This closes a person's eyes to the possibility that God is making small things happen in their lives. (e.g., If one is sure that Miracles don't occur, then he will surely discount everything unusual that happens.) When a person is not looking for something, he will probably not find it. If a person is not looking for a Miracle to happen, then (IF a Miracle like that DOES happen) he won't recognize that anything unusual has just occurred. But life has some Miracles like this, from time to time. Perhaps, if my faith was stronger, it would happen every time I need help. I am one of those people (who once a year or so) opens the Bible to a "random" page, only to find (sometimes) a verse that seems to fit the problem I am currently drowning in (or, just thinking about at the time). ![]() Many people claim that this method works with them (at least some of the time) when they try it. That being said, opening a Bible, and trying to find "divine inspiration" in a random verse, is exercising one's faith. Rather, that having the faith of a mustard seed must be unusual here on Earth. It seems to me that Jesus wasn't necessarily lying when He said that. and then, it WILL move (and even throw itself into the sea). Instead, Jesus Christ told His disciples that if one has the faith of a mustard seed, he can ask a mountain to move. I am not trying to say that faith can move mountains. ![]() While some people might assume that this was mis-translated (somehow), I believe in the power of faith to affect things to happen in one way (instead of another way).ĭon't get me wrong. I think that this story was recorded in the Gospel as a reason for Christians to NOT refuse to believe in the supernatural world.Īnd, Jesus told at least one believer: "Your faith has healed you." This "might" be true, but her skeptical belief (itself) may prevent God from giving her little Miracles.Įven Jesus Christ, Himself, was "prevented" from performing Miracles at places where people were skeptical of His "power" to do so (Like when Jesus, after blasting out countless BIG Miracles, returns to His home town). One woman told me, if the Red Sea doesn't part, then it's not a Miracle. So, these Catholics (or, believers in other religions) will not see an event as supernaturally caused (or inspired), even when it is an amazing coincidence. Most people believe, that in order to classified as a Miracle, something "nearly impossible" must occur. Is this a valid thing, or is it just superstition?" Recessive redundancy asks: "I read today of people who flip open to a random page in the Bible and read a verse, in hopes of a sign or divine inspiration.
